I'm glad you found me. I'm a writer, a teacher, a book lover, and a running addict. Not necessarily in that order.
I was born and raised in Hannibal, Missouri, Mark Twain's beloved boyhood home. I've lived a lot of places since I left, but Hannibal is still my hometown. I taught high school English for almost a decade, and I spent a few years teaching middle school in Brazil.
I write now from Washington, D.C. where I teach College Writing and Creative Writing at American University. My debut novel, FLOOD, is forthcoming from Hachette in 2017. I live with my husband, kids, and a chocolate labrador named Huckleberry Finn.
